Thappad, the story of a woman who files for a divorce after her husband slaps her in a party, was already getting mixed response on internet, and now #BoycottThappad is trending on twitter for a completely different reason.

Many netizens on twitter are showing their nationalism by expressing their hatred for Taapsee Pannu and Anubhav Sinha, as these Bollywodd celebrities have given political statements and views which were not liked by many of current government supporters. 
While the earlier clash between the people was about the subject of the film because some said the film showcase forced feminism and will increase the divorce rate. However, the film has been announced for Tax-Free by M.P government.

Anubhav Sinha, the director of the film has always been very vocal about his thoughts and had much controversy and faced much hatred for his thoughts expressed through tweets on social media. 
The duo faced such criticism and hatred during the release of Mulk as well.
