Karan Johar is one of the most popular filmmakers of India. Often trolled and criticized for his movies in past few years, this director and producer runs one of the most powerful and biggest production houses named Dharma Production.
Starting his career as in 1995 as an assistant director to Aditya Chopra in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayegnge, Karan made his first film as a director, Kuck Kuch Hota Hai, in 1998 and since then Karan didn’t look back.
Apart from many people’s guilty pleasure movie like family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Karan has directed films like My Name Is Khan, Kal Ho Na Ho and and Lust Stories.

Karan’s father was a filmmaker as well but he didn’t get much success, Karan started as an assistant director and went on to create one of the biggest production houses in Bollywood. When you think about directors and producers in Bollywood, you think about someone who isn’t very serious and not much into fashion and style, but Karan changed it all. He is always making news with his stylish outfits and photoshoots. As Karan said in one of his interviews, “why should only actors look pretty?” Karan also worked as a costume designer himself.

Karan Johar fans like his movies, but they also like his interviews. Karan has always seem to be appeared as a very confident and well spoken people in the Industry. Whether he is hosting an event, doing an interview or being a talk show host… he is always showing so much confidence.

The rumors of Karan Johar being gay were always making a buzz until Karan himself gave hints about his sexuality whether it was his bit in AIB Roast or a recent commercial, Karan is living his life with his own choices and he also became a single parent.

As a director, Karan did 8 films and all of them made money on the box office while some went on becoming most popular films of Bollywood, while My Name is Khan also gained much critical acclaim in Indian as well as internationally.
