Marjaavaan fails to impress critics – fans give positive reviews.

Marjaavaan featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria, Rakul Preet, and Riteish Deshmukh in a negative role is a full on masala film which tries to get everything to make it a hit but fails to impress the critics.

The movie brings back the 90s as Sidharth plays the old school hero who is a gangster with a kind heart, Riteish plays the villain with some cheap dialogues and he is vertically challenged and that’s it because the actresses in the movie has nothing to do much. Tara Sutaria’s job is to look pretty which she does and Rakul Preet Singh plays a prostitute who falls in love with the hero of the film.. sound very 90s, right? 

Marjaavaan would have been a hit if released in 90s, but today only fans are giving positive reviews and seems to be enjoying the film, while critics are trashing the movie. The movie does fail in many ways and unnecessary item songs and remixes aren’t helping either. 

Director Milap Zaveri tried to make a full ‘paisa vasool’ masala movie and Sidharth does shine in some scenes, but none could save the movie from critics trashing it. The only good thing you will remember about the film is Tum Hi Aana in Jubin Nautiyal’s voice.
