Why Mace Windy, played by Samuel L. Jackson, in Star Wars movie franchise has purple light saber? If that’s question came to your mind after watching this popular movie series a few times and noticing that Mace Windu’s lightsaber color is different from others, then we have the answer for you.

In an interview, Samuel L. Jackson revealed that he wanted to be a part of Star Wars and asked the director George Lucas to have him in the film for any minor role. However, Geroge made Samuel a Jedi in the movie.

When the shooting of big war scene in the movie started, Jackson wanted to be noticeable so he asked George if he could have a purple light saber. The director told the Avenger actor that lightsaber are only two different colors, blue and green. But when the war scene finally came, and Jackson came for the shooting, he was presented with purple lightsaber. So there you have it, Mace Windy has a purple lightsaber just because Samuel L. Jackson wanted purple lightsaber.
