Rafi Sahab had sung for almost all the music directors of his generation. But the music director for whom he has sung the most song were the duo, Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Rafi Sahab told him that he didn’t have any money for the train ticket to go home. Naushad told Rafi Sahab that he should have come in the studio and asked him for money, on which Rafi Sahab replied that how could he ask for money when the recording isn’t finished, so he decided to stay outside the studio and finish the recording next day and then as he would get his fee, he could go home. Hearing that Naushad sahab just stood their with wet eyes staring at this great man.
