Bollywood actor Shashi Kapoor passes away at the age of 79. The man who graced the silver screen with his charming smile is no longer with us, but he would always be alive in our hearts. Shashi Kapoor worked over 180 films. He appeared as actor in 168 films and 6 of the films he produced including Ajooba feat. Amitabh Bachchan. Shashi Kapoor’s Life

Shashi Kapoor comes from the great Kapoor Family of Bollywood. He was born on March 18 1938. He was the youngest son of Prithavi Raj Kapoor and siblings with great Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor. He married the BAFTA notminated english actress, Jennifer Kendal. After seeing a few failures as producer and director in the industry and the death of his wife, the actor’s health started going down and on Dec. 4 2017 he took his last breath. He has three children – Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor and Sanjana Kapoor.

Shashi Kapoor started his acting career at a very young age as a child actor in films like Aag and Awaara. When he grew up, he worked as an assistant director before getting his first film, which was Dharmputra. Shashi Kapoor became one of the most popular actors and some of his best films were : Jab Jab Phool Khile, Deewar, Namak Halal, Suhaag, Kabhie Kabhie, Kapoor was also one of the few actors who made his name in English movies too. He one of the best work was in the film Merchan Ivory.

Kapoor won the Filmfare award for best supporting actor for his role in ‘Deewar’ along side Amitabh Bachchan. We all remember that Iconic scene between these two great actors, don’t we?

He also won the Filmfare Life time achievement award.

In 2011 Government of India honored him with Padma Bhushan.

In 2015 he received Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema.
