It’s Amitabh Bachcahn’s birthday. One of the greatest actors and superstar of Indian cinema. An inspiration to so many people inside and outside Bollywood. Bachchan won every award in Bollywood from Filmfare to National award, From Padma Shri to Padma Vibhushan.

He won several international accolades and awards for his contribution to film industry as well. However Bachchan hasn’t won an Oscar, which some consider the biggest award out there for an actor. He hasn’t won it for his acting because he didn’t work in Hollywood (except a few appearances) but this legendary actor did work in an Oscar winning film.

In 2005, French film director Luc Jacquet made a full feature french documentary film titled ‘Merch of the Penguins’. The film was dubbed in Hindi and English and Amitabh Bachchan lent his voice as the narrator of the film which was titled ‘Penguins: A Love Story’. The film won Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Documentary feature.

Amitabh also worked in 2013 Hollywood film The Great Gatsby feat. Leonardo Di’Caprio. The film won 2 Oscar awards.


Interesting fact: Amitabh was awarded Filmfare Life Time Achievemant award in 1991, which is kind a sign telling someone that you have worked enough and it’s time to retire… but its been more than 25 years and Bachchan is still entertaining us.
